The toilet keeps running, the faucet will not stop dripping or there is water under the sink. You need the problem fixed, but a plumber’s visit can cost more than the small part you think has failed.
So selected fixture repairs at All Purpose Plumbing in Tacoma, Washington, run from $241 to $735 on its normal-price menu. That covers different jobs, from a repairable disposal to a faucet repair, rather than every plumbing fault.
I checked published US plumbing menus and homeowner accounts to help you work out the job price, the call-out charge and what may be left for you to repair afterward.
Prices for Smaller Plumbing Repairs
All Purpose Plumbing’s menu separates the following normal prices from its discounted Home Club prices. These are Tacoma-area examples under normal access and service conditions.
The exact price follows diagnosis and approval. All Purpose identifies pipe condition, access, permits, materials and related work as possible cost factors; applicable sales tax can be added.

A running toilet may need a tank part, while a leak at its base can mean removing and resetting it. Describe where the water appears instead of booking a particular repair before anyone has found the cause.
For an entirely new fixture, my toilet installation guide covers replacement. A reset or repair of the existing toilet is a different purchase.
What You Pay Just to Get the Plumber There
One Time Plumbing in San Jose charges a $175 dispatch fee, waived when work is approved on that visit. Its first-hour leak investigation is $295, and its after-hours fee adds $310 to the job.
In Phoenix, J&L Plumbing’s posted menu has an $89 service call and diagnostic and a $189 after-hours visit. Ask whether the visit fee is credited and which repair charges follow.
For example, the San Jose menu has standard-access faucet installation labor at $265. With its after-hours surcharge, the calculation is $265 + $310 = $575, before the new faucet and any other applicable extras.
The same approved visit waives the dispatch fee, so I have not added it to that example. Peninsula or Tri-Valley travel charges and nonstandard work have their own prices on the menu.

When Access Costs More Than the Part
One Time prices wall cutting, tile repair and other restoration separately. Before a pipe behind a finished wall is opened, settle who will close the opening and restore the surface.
Leak investigation is also separate from fixing what is found. Ask what the diagnostic visit buys, what information you receive and whether approving the repair changes that charge.
I would want a clear description of the failed section and the repair area. Replacing one accessible connection and renewing pipe through several finished rooms leave you with very different projects.
My slab leak repair guide covers work under a concrete floor. For widespread supply-pipe trouble, the whole-house repipe guide explains the larger scope.
What Homeowners Were Charged or Quoted
A DC Urban Moms discussion about kitchen faucets includes these older US accounts. The owners were discussing replacement work, so keep the fixture purchase separate from repairing an existing faucet.
- On November 19, 2023, an owner who already had the faucet reported a $475 installation estimate.
- On November 21, 2023, another participant reported about $250 for the plumber, without a detailed breakdown.
- On November 22, 2023, a McLean, Virginia homeowner paid $280 in labor and supplied a faucet bought for $120. The combined spend was $280 + $120 = $400.
That McLean example is why I would put both the fixture and fitting costs on the comparison sheet. A labor-only offer can look cheaper than a quote supplying the whole job.
Before You Book the Repair
Tell the company what is leaking, whether water is still flowing and whether you can shut off that fixture. If it is safe and the valve works, stop the water and avoid using the affected fixture while arranging help.
If there are several small problems, mention them when booking. The company can allow time and explain which jobs can share a visit, without assuming additional repairs will be free.
