Short answer

Understand Andersen's series, dealer installation ranges and the difference between retail products and Renewal by Andersen projects.

You have picked Andersen windows, but one quote is for the 100 Series and another is for Renewal by Andersen. Before you compare the totals, make sure you are looking at the same product and the same installation work.

So what do Andersen windows cost? AMG, a Bay Area dealer, publishes installed planning ranges of $1,150 to $2,300 per window for the 100 Series and $1,700 to $4,800 for the 400 Series, before sales tax.

I will explain the series, show what that dealer’s ranges assume and compare them with a homeowner’s quote. Andersen’s own pricing guide uses relative tiers rather than a national installed dollar price.

Which Andersen Series Are You Pricing?

The series changes the materials and available choices. Andersen’s own comparison describes these differences:

  • 100 Series uses Fibrex composite inside and out. It is an option when you want the composite frame rather than a wood interior.
  • 200 Series has a wood interior and a vinyl-clad exterior, with a narrower selection of designs and sizes.
  • 400 Series also offers wood interiors and protected exteriors, with more choices than the 200 Series. Exact construction depends on the window style.
  • A-Series combines wood interiors with composite exteriors. E-Series combines wood interiors with aluminum-clad exteriors.

If stained wood is part of the room you want, start by comparing the wood-interior lines. If you prefer a composite frame, price the 100 Series in the style and color you need.

Do not pay for a series name alone. The proposal should identify the opening style, dimensions, glass, frame colors, grilles, screens and hardware for each opening.

A Dealer’s Installed Andersen Prices

AMG’s August 2026 guide is for Bay Area replacement projects. Its ranges assume common-size openings, a multi-window job, included color and hardware, typical access and no structural or water-damage repair.

AMG Bay Area multi-window planning ranges: 100 Series $1,150-$2,300 and 400 Series $1,700-$4,800 per window installed, excluding sales tax and damage repair.

The installation method still needs a site check. Use these figures to plan a local project, then have the dealer describe removal, sealing, trim and repairs in the proposal.

AMG also shows separate upgrade allowances for colors, glass, grilles and hardware. Have the selected options priced together; adding every possible upgrade would not describe one actual window.

For six 100 Series windows at AMG’s range, my multiplication is 6 × $1,150 = $6,900 to 6 × $2,300 = $13,800. That is a planning example before sales tax or work outside its assumptions.

Andersen and Renewal by Andersen Have Different Buying Routes

Andersen’s comparison explains that its windows can be bought through independent retailers and The Home Depot. A contractor can order and install them, or you can arrange the purchase and installation yourself.

Renewal by Andersen manages the replacement project through its own retailer. Its Acclaim windows use Fibrex, but that does not make an Acclaim quote the same product order as a 100 Series dealer quote.

Keep those proposals in separate comparisons until you know which products and services each includes. A retail window price also needs installation work added before you can compare it with a fitted project.

Keep the Existing Frame or Replace It?

Andersen describes an insert replacement as a new window fitted inside a sound existing frame. It can preserve trim and siding, but the old frame has to be suitable for the work.

A full-frame replacement removes more of the existing assembly. It can give more flexibility over size and shape, while bringing the surrounding wall and finish work into the job.

Andersen describes an insert inside a suitable sound existing frame; a full-frame replacement removes the existing frame and brings more surrounding finish work into the scope.

Ask the installer to identify which approach is proposed for each opening. Rot behind trim, water damage and changes to the opening need an agreed way to approve extra work once exposed.

For a projecting window seat, our bay window replacement guide covers the roof, seat and supports. A flat-window allowance does not describe that whole assembly.

For a below-grade opening, use our basement window replacement guide to separate a small window swap from a new escape opening, well and drainage work.

What I Would Settle Before Ordering

Have the final measurements taken by whoever accepts responsibility for the fit.

A product warranty and the installer’s responsibility for fitting it are separate parts of the decision.

Andersen’s pricing guide states that its product pricing excludes installation and depends on the dealer and selected options. Ask your dealer for the price of your chosen size and options.

Questions About Andersen Window Prices

No. Its product-pricing note excludes installation. The installed AMG ranges shown here come from that dealer’s separate local guide.

Where These Prices Come From

Checked October 25, 2026. AMG’s figures are regional planning ranges updated August 2026, not a nationwide Andersen price list.
