You have found tires on Walmart’s website, but the checkout total is higher once fitting appears. It helps to separate the tires, the installation package and any warranty before deciding what to buy.
So Walmart advertises tire installation starting at $18 per tire. At that starting rate, four installations are 4 x $18 = $72, before the tires and any additional fees or tax.
I will show you what to check in the package, how Walmart+ affects road-hazard coverage, and what customers paid or were quoted. The starting rate comes from Walmart’s own Marketplace announcement.
How Much to Install One, Two or Four Tires?
Here are the sums using Walmart’s published $18 starting rate. Your selected store and checkout package determine the actual charge.
Walmart’s announcement also covers eligible Marketplace tires. Look for the “Available for Installation” label rather than assuming every tire offered by an outside seller qualifies.

For the price of the tires themselves and how to compare equivalent sizes, see my tire replacement cost guide.
What Is Included in Walmart Tire Installation?
Walmart’s installation page describes mounting, balancing and wheel-fitment checks as the normal work. Valve stems and old-tire disposal depend on the services you choose.
That page also offers lifetime balancing and rotation or TPMS reset as possible additions.
A TPMS reset does not mean a broken sensor has been replaced. If a sensor needs changing, ask for the part and service to be identified separately.
Likewise, mounting and balancing do not establish that wheel alignment is included. Mention pulling or uneven wear when you arrange the work, so the store can explain which services it can provide.
Does Walmart+ Make Tire Installation Free?
No. Walmart’s member benefit upgrades an eligible Basic installation purchase to the Value package with road-hazard protection. Its help page values that benefit at $10 per tire.
For four eligible tires, the stated benefit is 4 x $10 = $40. That is the value of the coverage, not a deduction from the installation labor charge.
The benefit applies when you buy new tires with installation. You must be an active Walmart+ member and apply the coverage when buying the tires.
New York is an exception. Walmart stopped offering this member road-hazard benefit there after February 28, 2025. Its help page explains the conditions for honoring earlier purchases.

Flat repair is another member benefit, subject to tire and vehicle restrictions. Walmart will repair an eligible puncture for free if the tire can be repaired.
What Customers Paid or Were Quoted
These dated US reports are useful for checking the contents of a bill. They are older transactions, rather than today’s menu for your store.
- On November 3, 2022, a Mazdas247 owner described a Walmart installation quote of $14 + $3 for a valve stem = $17 per tire, without road hazard.
- Another owner in that discussion reported a $17 to $27 installation price on November 3, 2022, and planned to skip road-hazard coverage.
- A Walmart reviewer named Daniel reported buying a $112 Value installation package, $28 per tire, on March 8, 2024. The review describes an extra balancing charge being removed after the receipt was checked.
That last experience is why I would keep the online receipt available at check-in. A second charge for a service already bought needs explaining before you pay.
What Road-Hazard Coverage Pays For
Walmart’s optional warranty terms provide repair or replacement credit for covered road-hazard damage. A nonrepairable puncture must meet the warranty conditions before replacement is approved.
The terms give a free replacement tire during the first 25% of usable tread or the first year, whichever comes first, with installation and applicable taxes and government charges extra.
After that, eligible replacement credit depends on remaining tread. Keep the original invoice and installation record, and read the exclusions before treating coverage as a promise of another complete fitted set.
Before You Order Tires for Installation
Enter the exact vehicle and tire size, select your store, and confirm installation eligibility. Walmart allows eligible online orders to be sent to an Auto Care Center with installation scheduled through its site or app.
Check the order status before traveling. For tires bought elsewhere, ask the local Auto Care Center whether it accepts them and what its full fitting charge will be.
Bring up run-flat tires and unusual wheels when booking. Walmart’s fitting page advises confirming support for specialty tire combinations.
Questions About Walmart Tire Fitting
How much does Walmart charge to install four tires?
Using Walmart’s advertised starting price, 4 x $18 = $72 for installation. Tires, selected extras, fees and tax can increase the total.
Do Walmart+ members get free installation?
The listed benefit is road-hazard coverage with an eligible tire-and-installation purchase, rather than free fitting. The member benefit is unavailable in New York for new purchases after February 28, 2025.
Are valve stems and disposal included?
Walmart’s installation page makes those dependent on the services selected. Read your package contents and final order before assuming they are covered.
Will road-hazard coverage pay for fitting the replacement tire?
Walmart’s optional warranty terms exclude installation cost and applicable taxes and government charges from the free-replacement provision.
