You want a quick oil change, but the Valvoline coupon gives a discount without telling you the bill. The useful number is the total for your engine, including the oil quantity and filter it needs.
So here is one current menu: Valvoline Express Care at 19851 Van Dyke Street in Detroit advertises regular oil at $39.99, synthetic blend at $69.99 and full synthetic at $89.99, checked October 26, 2026.
Those are that Express Care shop’s prices. Valvoline Instant Oil Change, or VIOC, directs customers to their local center for a price based on oil type, quarts and discounts.
I will show you the menu, the terms that can change the total and some older customer bills. First, check which Valvoline business you plan to visit.
Express Care and Instant Oil Change Prices
The Detroit shop’s website identifies it as Valvoline Express Care. Its published menu is useful if you are visiting that business, but it does not set prices for VIOC centers elsewhere.
The page adds tax and shop fees to all services. It does not state a quart allowance.
At Instant Oil Change, the official pricing FAQ names oil type, required quarts and special offers as the main pricing factors. It gives no fixed nationwide service price.
What a VIOC Full-Service Oil Change Includes
VIOC’s service page includes up to five quarts of oil, a new filter and an 18-point maintenance check. The coupon terms allow a suitable alternative oil and an extra charge for a premium filter.
The included quarts vary by vehicle model and location, with extra quarts charged separately.
The coupon terms also leave tax and other applicable charges outside the offer.
A maintenance check is a check, rather than a promise to replace everything inspected. If an air filter or another service is offered, decide on it separately from the oil change you came for.
How to Read the Coupon
On the Nyack, New York VIOC page, I found $15 off a full synthetic or synthetic blend oil change and $12 off conventional, with November 15, 2026 expiry dates in the page checked October 26.
Use the offer shown for the center you will visit. The national coupon terms restrict offers to participating locations and do not allow combining them with other offers for the same service.
Those terms also exclude customer-supplied oil. Bringing a jug from home does not automatically qualify for the same discount.
I would show the coupon before work begins and have the center confirm the final total. A discount amount on its own tells you how much is taken off, rather than what you will pay.
Earlier Customer Bills
These Bob Is The Oil Guy reports are from 2020. They show how a promotion, oil choice and extra services change a bill; they are not today’s menu.
- Texas Hill Country member JustinH paid $22 out the door for conventional 5W-20 and a house filter on a 2011 Scion xB, using a 50% coupon, in a November 5, 2020 post.
- In that same post, JustinH described watching another customer’s GM SUV receive a full synthetic oil change for a little under $100. The post gives no exact total.
- Maryland member walterjay described a grandson’s Ford Focus visit costing $139 for an oil change and power steering fluid change together, posted November 6, 2020.
The Focus bill is useful when you are offered additional maintenance. Keep the oil-only subtotal visible so you can see what an added service does to the amount you approve.
Is the Convenience Worth the Price?
VIOC advertises a stay-in-your-car oil change in about 15 minutes with no appointment needed. That describes the service; it does not promise there will be no line when you arrive.
If you need to fit the visit into a short lunch break, ask the center about its current wait. Extra maintenance may also take longer than the oil change alone.
For another chain’s package names and terms, read our Walmart oil change guide. Compare the same required oil and quantity rather than two different headline offers.
Our synthetic oil change guide looks at other service menus. It is useful if your engine needs full synthetic and you want alternatives near home.
Valvoline Oil Change Questions
Does Valvoline publish one oil change price for every location?
VIOC’s official FAQ sends customers to the local center for pricing. The Detroit Express Care menu in this guide belongs to that separate local business.
How much is the Detroit Express Care full synthetic service?
Its Van Dyke Street menu advertises $89.99, checked October 26, 2026. Tax and shop fees are extra; the page does not specify the included quantity.
Can I use the same coupon with my own oil?
The VIOC national coupon terms exclude customer-supplied oil. Confirm any different local arrangement before bringing supplies.
Do I need an appointment for VIOC?
VIOC advertises no appointment needed and about 15 minutes for its oil change. Allow for the line and any other work you request.
