Your screened porch needs attention, but replacing torn mesh and turning it into a window enclosure are very different projects. A useful budget starts with what you want to keep.
So Carolina Glass Replacement gives $500 to $900 for a 200-square-foot porch rescreen in Charlotte. That buys rescreening, rather than roof replacement, damaged framing repairs or a window-panel conversion.
I checked the provider page on October 23, 2026. I will show that smaller repair scope first, then compare owners’ roof and enclosure projects so you can see why their totals are much higher.
Start With the Mesh, Frame and Roof
Have the contractor identify which screen frames, posts, floor and roof can stay. Ask for the mesh specification and a measured description of the area being rescreened.

The Charlotte screen menu gives these local examples. Confirm how its 200-square-foot porch example is measured before applying it to your own floor plan.
The provider’s advertised screen offer excludes tax. Its $365 visit minimum is not a surcharge to add again when the qualifying work already exceeds that amount.
Window-screen prices do not establish a price for every large porch panel. Give the contractor the panel sizes, door condition and photographs of any damaged frames before asking for the finished total.
Three Owners’ Very Different Renovations
In a February 12, 2024 Garage Journal discussion, Conway, South Carolina member bobg03 received a $17,862 quote before a time-limited discount.
That proposal kept an 8 x 16-foot porch’s roof, slab and beams. It added a better door, sliding window panels and an 18-inch knee wall. It was an enclosure conversion quote, not a mesh-only repair bill.
Western North Carolina member FlaGman reported about $6,500 paid for refurbishing a 10 x 16-foot porch with Sunspace WeatherMaster vinyl windows. The work happened about a year and a half before that February 2024 post.
Eastern North Carolina member akaLarry reported $1,400 paid for roof work in a July 21, 2020 post. Wet OSB was replaced with plywood, with insulation, rubber roofing and a gutter added.
The roof owner later replaced the ceiling and added lights and fans separately. That later work was outside the $1,400 roofing amount, so it should not be folded into the old roof price.
These dates and scopes belong beside each amount. I would not average a roof repair, a completed vinyl-window renovation and another owner’s quoted conversion into one porch price.
Does the Porch Need More Than Screens?
Look at water damage before ordering new mesh. Have the contractor explain any roof leak, rotten trim, failed door or damaged support that would remain after the screens were replaced.
My roof leak repair guide covers separate roofing work. The deck replacement guide helps with wood floors, supports, railings and rebuilding questions.
The porch photographs show existing layouts and screen openings. They do not show any of the quoted Charlotte work or the owners’ renovations described here.

If you want window panels, have the supplier identify the exact product and how the existing frame will be prepared for it. Screens and removable vinyl windows should not be described as the same purchased finish.
What I Would Put on the Final Proposal
Ask for the number and size of panels, chosen mesh, door work, demolition, disposal and finish repairs. Mark retained parts clearly so another bidder can price the same project.
For a conversion, include the window or panel product, wall sections, door and any roof or support changes. Ask who confirms approvals and whether the space will remain an unconditioned porch.
Any proposed lighting, fans or electrical alterations need their own scope. The older roof account shows how quickly those improvements become a separate part of a renovation budget.
Questions About Screened Porch Prices
How much does rescreening a porch cost?
Carolina Glass Replacement gives $500 to $900 for its 200-square-foot Charlotte porch example. Confirm panel measurements, the mesh and the condition of the retained frames for your quote.
Does that cover a full screened porch renovation?
No. Roof repairs, damaged framing and conversion to window panels are separate scopes. The dated owner accounts above describe larger and different projects.
Do I add the service minimum to every screen price?
The Charlotte provider describes $365 as its minimum for a separate visit, not a surcharge. Ask for one total including your porch work and any applicable tax.
Is the $17,862 conversion a current paid price?
It was a South Carolina owner’s February 2024 quote before a temporary discount, with the existing roof, slab and beams retained. No completed paid invoice was reported in that post.
Where These Prices Come From
US provider page checked October 23, 2026. Owner reports retain their 2024 and 2020 posting dates, with the completed vinyl-window job occurring before its post.
- Carolina Glass Replacement: Charlotte porch rescreen and current visit minimum
- Garage Journal: South Carolina conversion quote and North Carolina completed renovation
- Garage Journal: Eastern North Carolina roof repair and separate later improvements
