You are booking a coolant service, but one estimate says radiator cleaning and another says flush and refill. Before comparing the totals, check whether each shop includes fresh coolant and removing air from the system.
So radiator cleaning with a cleaner is $95 on Express Auto Care’s Miami menu. Its complete flush, bleed and fluid exchange is $145 with up to two gallons. Crystal Clear Automotive in the Tulsa area advertises a $129 flush including coolant.
I checked those US menus on October 22, 2026. Let me show you how a refill, chemical cleaning and a full exchange differ, and which items belong in the final price.
Compare the Service, Not Just the Word Flush
Express Auto Care publishes separate services as well as packages. These individual menu lines do not all describe the same job:
A top-off adds fluid. A drain and refill replaces drained coolant. Cleaning uses a flushing agent to remove deposits. A complete exchange can include additional flushing and bleeding work, as the Miami menu describes.

Crystal Clear Automotive includes coolant in its flush price. Its menu also identifies a trip charge outside the core area, so give the shop your address when requesting mobile service.
Why the Same Shop Also Has a Package Price
Express Auto Care’s CS3 package starts at $120 and includes a cooling-system pressure test, flushing the engine, radiator and heater core, and fluid exchange with up to two gallons of OEM-specific coolant.
That starting package appears alongside its separate $145 complete-exchange line. Ask which option applies to your vehicle and what the final price includes. Do not add every individual service to the package price.
Its inspection and test menu also includes a $40 visual inspection, a $45 combustion-leak test and a $20 radiator-cap pressure test. Those are individual diagnostic prices, rather than automatic additions to every flush.
What One F-150 Owner Was Quoted
On July 12, 2024, F150gen14 member Str8Shooter, whose profile gives Maryland, reported a $149 flush-and-fill quote from a Ford dealer.
The same owner reported that a quick-lube center quoted the same $149. The dealer described using a machine to remove the old fluid and replace it. These are the owner’s dated quotes, not paid receipts or a current national rate.
The truck in the profile is a 2021 F-150 PowerBoost. Do not assume an older truck, another engine or a different cooling circuit will have the same capacity or procedure.
What to Ask Before Authorizing the Job
First, ask how much of the correct coolant is included. The Miami complete exchange includes up to two gallons. If your system needs more, have the extra fluid and its price written into the quote.
Second, confirm the exact coolant specification. Prestone’s maintenance guidance sends drivers to the manufacturer’s schedule and owner’s manual. A color description alone is not the vehicle’s specification.
Third, ask whether the shop will remove trapped air and check the final level. A refill price should be compared with another refill price, not with a larger service whose list also includes cleaning and diagnostics.
Cleaning Will Not Replace a Broken Part
A flush services the fluid side of the cooling system. It does not replace a damaged radiator, leaking hose or failed fan. If the car is losing coolant, ask the shop to identify the leak before treating a flush as the complete repair.

My coolant leak repair guide covers the repair estimates. A radiator cap replacement is another distinct job.
Prestone describes dirty coolant as a reason to service the system because contamination can reduce flow and encourage corrosion. Follow the vehicle’s maintenance instructions instead of one fixed flush interval for every car.
If the engine is overheating, have the fault checked before continuing to drive. Let the system cool before checking it; opening a hot, pressurized coolant system can cause burns.
Radiator Cleaning Questions
Is a coolant flush the same as a top-off?
No. A top-off adds fluid to the system. A flush or exchange replaces fluid and may include cleaning and bleeding. The Miami menu prices these separately, so ask which service the estimate describes.
Does radiator cleaning include new coolant?
Check the quote. The Miami complete exchange includes up to two gallons, and the Tulsa flush includes coolant. The cleaning-agent line does not state the same allowance, so do not assume the offers match.
How often should I have the coolant changed?
Use the maintenance schedule for your exact vehicle and coolant. Prestone directs drivers to the manufacturer’s schedule and manual. There is no one interval established by the menus in this guide.
Will a flush fix a coolant leak?
It does not replace a leaking component. Have the shop diagnose the leak and separate any needed repair from the fluid service. That keeps a cleaning price from being mistaken for a complete repair estimate.
