You turn the phone over after a drop and see cracks across the display. The first repair quote may sound reasonable, but it helps to know whether you are buying a screen, a larger assembly or a replacement phone.
So selected US screen-repair examples here run from $59 for older iPhones at Cell N Comp Repairs to $429 for a MacTech iPhone Pro Max example, including its service fee. These are provider examples, not one price for every phone.
I will compare iPhone and Galaxy model prices, explain why the repair scope matters and help you decide what to ask before handing over your phone.
Independent iPhone Screen Repair Prices
Cell N Comp Repairs in Chicago publishes the model table below. Some models have several display options, so have the shop identify the part included in your quote.
The shop offers different display types and a 30-day parts-and-labor repair warranty. Ask which functions, brightness and refresh behavior the proposed part supports, especially on a Pro model.
A cheaper LCD option for a phone originally fitted with OLED is a change in display technology. Do not assume every replacement sold for the same model has the same appearance or performance.
An Apple-Authorized Provider’s Screen Fees
MacTech Solutions in Wichita Falls, Texas publishes screen-only repair rates and adds a $50 service fee to out-of-warranty iPhone repairs. Here are selected sums before tax.
MacTech excludes phones with additional damage, such as a bent enclosure or damaged camera, from screen-only pricing. Inspection decides whether the phone qualifies.

For Apple’s own current quote, use its screen-service estimator. Apple inspects the device before setting the final fee, and authorized providers give their own estimates.
If your iPhone also loses charge quickly, compare the combined job with the separate iPhone battery replacement options. A screen quote alone does not settle that second repair.
Samsung Galaxy Screen Repair Prices
Samsung publishes suggested US repair prices, excluding taxes and fees. Its screen-only and screen-module columns describe different work; regional or authorized-store pricing can differ.
Samsung’s module service replaces the screen, bezel and battery. Screen-only service replaces the front screen and requires the phone to pass inspection without a bent or broken frame, swollen battery or other hardware failure.

That is why a module quote cannot be judged only against the lowest screen-only number. Ask which scope your phone qualifies for and whether another damaged component changes the estimate.
Foldable Phones Need the Exact Screen Identified
For a Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung’s suggested screen-only prices are $139 for the outer display and $449 for the inner display. Its inner-screen module replacement is $589, before tax and fees.
Give the repairer the exact model and identify the affected display. A damaged inner folding panel, an outer screen and a peeling cover layer are different descriptions of a problem.
What Owners Paid or Were Quoted
These Washington-area forum discussions include older repairs and quotes. Their dates matter, and the parts or coverage in each job are not fully described.
- On May 5, 2024, a DC Urban Moms participant reported a $90 screen repair at a shop in Cleveland Park. The iPhone model was not given.
- On November 25, 2023, an iPhone 11 Pro Max owner described a $329 proposed repair and a $280 quote from another store. In a November 27 update, the owner reported paying $145 at an Asurion shop in Bethesda after a competitor price match.
Those accounts are useful comparisons, but today’s model-specific menus above are a better starting point than treating an unidentified older repair as a current offer.
Decide What the Repaired Phone Is Worth to You
Compare the complete repair estimate with the replacement phone you would actually choose. Include its condition, storage, battery health and software support in that decision.
If touch, charging or the cameras also fail, ask for diagnosis before agreeing to a screen-only job. Replacing the glass or display cannot be assumed to fix every fault caused by a drop.
Check existing AppleCare, Samsung Care+, carrier or other protection before paying out of pocket. Ask for the covered repair fee and any conditions that apply to this incident.
Before service, back up any data you can still access. Ask the provider about its preparation instructions, the repair warranty and whether the work includes resealing and testing.
Phone Screen Repair Questions
Does Apple’s limited warranty cover a dropped phone?
Apple’s limited warranty excludes accidental damage. Its AppleCare plans provide accidental-damage protection; the covered service fee depends on your plan.
Does a screen replacement include a new battery?
Samsung’s screen-module service includes the battery and bezel. Its screen-only service does not describe the same bundle. Other providers’ inclusions need checking separately.
Can a bent frame change the price?
Yes. The screen-only options described by Samsung and MacTech have conditions concerning additional damage. Inspection can move the repair into a different scope.
Should I repair the screen before trading in the phone?
Compare the confirmed repair cost with the difference between the damaged and repaired trade-in offers. Do not spend more on the repair than it adds to the transaction unless you also want to keep using the phone.
