Your dishwasher has stopped earning its space under the counter. A replacement looks affordable in the showroom, but you still need the old one out and the new one connected without a leak.
So a Bosch replacement example starts at $749 + $179 = $928 before tax and extras. That combines Yale Appliance’s entry-series price with Alaska Appliance Installers’ standard fitting rate.
I will separate the machine from the fitting bill, explain the connections that can add work, and show some older homeowner accounts. These US prices were checked October 18, 2026.
Basic, Mid-Range and Premium Dishwasher Prices
Yale Appliance’s Bosch comparison gives useful price bands within one brand. Its table reflects late-2025 retail listings, so use these as shopping benchmarks and confirm today’s offer for the exact model.
The price ladder buys different racks, drying systems and noise levels. It does not mean the most expensive machine is the right fit for your kitchen. Try your largest plates and think about how much plastic you wash.
For a mid-range example, Yale’s Bosch 500 band plus Alaska’s labor gives $1,129 + $179 = $1,308 to $1,249 + $179 = $1,428. Those are my sums across two companies, before tax, parts and disposal.
What the Installer Charges
A same-size replacement with usable connections is the job to compare first. These businesses publish their own installation prices:
Alaska’s parts and materials cost extra. Cabinet modifications and electrical alterations are also outside its standard charge. With its haul-away fee, standard labor and disposal are $179 + $25 = $204.
JOVAL excludes the air gap, installation kit, countertop drilling and haul-away from its starting labor price. A store offering delivery is not necessarily offering all of those jobs.
Water Line, Drain Hose and Air Gap
Open the cabinet under the sink before booking. The installer needs to see the shutoff valve, the water connection and where the dishwasher drains. A corroded valve can turn a simple hookup into plumbing work.

- Water supply: have the installer identify the new hose or line and fittings included in the kit, plus any shutoff replacement.
- Drain hose: confirm whether the machine includes one and whether its length reaches the approved drain connection.
These installers do not publish a fixed charge for every connection change. I would send photos of the existing setup and ask for the required parts to be named in the quote.
A dishwasher draining into a disposal also needs the correct inlet connection. If that appliance is being changed too, arrange both hookups on the same visit and check what each labor charge covers.
Will It Fit Under the Counter?
Measure the opening from the finished floor to the underside of the counter, then compare it with the new model’s installation drawing. Also check width, depth and the space needed for the open door.

JOVAL checks the cabinet opening and floor clearance before installation. If the cabinet needs changing, it quotes that work before starting.
For a larger kitchen project, keep countertop replacement separate from the appliance bill.
Electrical Work Can Be a Separate Visit
Some existing dishwashers are hardwired; others use a cord and outlet.
JOVAL offers a separate quote for converting old wiring to a protected outlet. Its advertised labor price does not include every electrical upgrade. Have the electrician price circuit, outlet or protection changes before delivery.
What Homeowners Paid
These older Houzz accounts show different pieces of the purchase. They are useful for understanding the bill, rather than setting today’s local labor rate.
- On February 21, 2017, Angela M reported buying a Whirlpool for $499, with tax and installation extra. Delivery had not happened yet.
- On January 12, 2012, grumpydave described a $95 Miele delivery fee on top of installation. The crew would not add the missing plumbing tee.
- On September 7, 2018, a Houzz contributor reported a $1,200 job for a niece, with a family discount. It involved preparing plumbing, electrical and cabinet space, rather than a straight swap.
Questions Before Replacing a Dishwasher
Can an Installer Fit a Dishwasher I Bought Elsewhere?
JOVAL accepts dishwashers bought from other retailers, including Lowe’s, Home Depot, Costco and Best Buy.
Does the Installation Have Its Own Warranty?
JOVAL offers a 90-day labor warranty. The appliance manufacturer handles the dishwasher warranty separately.
