You still like your car, but the faded hood and peeling roof make it look ready for retirement. A fresh paint job sounds appealing until you discover how much work can sit outside the advertised package.
So Sprayglo’s Georgia paint packages start at $597, $797 and $1,397. Those are package prices for an exterior repaint, with body repairs and some other work adding to the estimate.
I will show you the published packages, what to ask about preparation and color changes, and three owners’ older prices. Shop pages were checked October 24, 2026.
What an Advertised Paint Package Buys
Sprayglo has shops in Conyers and Valdosta, Georgia. Its three packages use different paint systems, rather than simply more coats of the same product.
The packages cover the exterior in a single original color. Sprayglo’s exterior color-change fee is $100; door jambs, under the hood and trunk painting are quoted separately.

Dents, rust and failing old paint can raise its estimate. I would settle the preparation first, because a more expensive paint system does not answer what happens to a peeling layer underneath.
A Cheaper Starting Price, With a Fee
Econo Auto Painting’s service menu starts at $425, before a $7 environmental fee. That gives a starting calculation of $425 + $7 = $432 before any extra work or applicable tax.
Its Enamel Deluxe process includes hand sanding for adhesion, masking chrome and windows, and applying automotive enamel. The service has a one-year prorated guarantee; body repairs cost extra.
Econo’s prices cover an exterior single-color job on most vehicles. Trucks, vans and SUVs are higher. So I would use this as a budget repaint starting point, rather than a restoration allowance.
Preparation Can Change the Whole Quote
Maaco’s estimate guidance explains why it needs to see the car. Peeling, cracks and delamination can be hard to judge from photographs, and the surface may need additional work.
Ask the estimator to point to the panels that need repair or paint removal. Have those jobs priced separately from ordinary sanding and masking so you can see where the money goes.
Also agree on what gets removed and what gets masked. Mirrors, trim, handles and weather seals affect where the new finish ends; the word “complete” should have a clear meaning on your estimate.
Changing Color Means More Than the Outside
Open a door and look at the jamb. If your silver car becomes blue only on the outer panels, that silver edge can still show every time you get in.
Maaco treats exterior color changes as an extra and prices door jambs, under the hood and the trunk separately. Ask the shop to mark the surfaces included in your chosen color change.

Keeping the existing color avoids that particular mismatch. If you want a new color, decide how much of the car you want changed before you compare the estimates.
What Owners Paid After Doing Their Own Prep
The Garage Journal has some useful examples of how much work can be left out of a paint bill. These are historical US accounts, with the preparation and panel scope kept beside each price.
- MatthewM in the Phoenix area recalled paying $200 at Earl Scheib for a Mustang in an April 5, 2012 post. The owner did most preparation and removed chrome and trim, and noticed some paint sags afterward.
- kazlx in Tustin, California recalled about $400 out the door at Maaco on April 17, 2013. The car arrived as a stripped rolling chassis after the owner’s bodywork and trim removal.
- motofool33, north of Houston, was quoted $800 to paint a used Dodge tailgate on March 4, 2016. That was one rough replacement panel, not a whole-car repaint or a paid bill.
I would not use those old amounts as today’s target prices. What they show is that a spray-only job after owner preparation and a shop handling the surface repairs are very different purchases.
Polishing After a Repaint
Sprayglo can refer Extreme-package customers for wet sanding and buffing after painting. It does not recommend that work for its single-stage Polyglo or Supreme finishes.
For polishing prices, see my paint correction guide.
Allow Time for the Work
Maaco gives three to five days for a paint job, with additional time for significant bodywork, extra preparation, replacement parts or its workload. Get a collection date based on the actual repairs agreed for your car.
Before leaving it, agree on the total, the excluded work and the written warranty. At pickup, go over the edges, repaired areas and finish with the estimator while you are both standing beside the car.
Questions About Car Painting Prices
How much does a full car paint job cost?
Sprayglo’s Georgia exterior paint packages start at $597, $797 and $1,397. The final estimate depends on preparation, repairs and the other work selected.
Can I get a car painted for less?
Econo’s published service starting price is $425 plus a $7 environmental fee, or $425 + $7 = $432 before extra work and applicable tax. This covers a basic exterior single-color scope on most vehicles.
Does a paint job include the door jambs?
Check the package. Maaco treats jambs, under the hood and trunk painting as separate extras, and an exterior repaint can leave those surfaces in the old color.
How long will my car be in the paint shop?
Maaco gives three to five days, with more time for substantial bodywork, additional preparation, parts and shop workload. Your estimator should confirm the schedule.
