You book an oil change for your BMW and see both a single-visit price and a three-year oil plan. They pay for different things, so checking the terms matters before choosing the cheaper-looking number.
So BMW of the Hudson Valley advertises $119.95 oil Value Service for four- and six-cylinder vehicles. Luxury Auto Works in Austin estimates $120 to $220 for its BMW oil service.
I checked these US provider pages on October 22, 2026. I will compare the individual service with the prepaid plan, show what one US X3 owner paid and explain what belongs in your oil-service quote.
Prices for One BMW Oil Change
The Hudson Valley dealer’s menu identifies the cylinder eligibility for its offer. Do not assume the same amount covers an eight-cylinder engine or every BMW model.
The Austin specialist’s service description includes BMW-approved oil and an OEM or equivalent filter. Its range depends on the model and oil capacity.
Ask whether the final amount includes labor, the required oil quantity, filter, applicable seals, tax and disposal charges. A base oil offer can be hard to compare when the extra quantity is left out.
How the $249 Oil Plan Works
East Bay BMW advertises Ultimate Oil Care at $249 for three years, including qualifying oil and filter service labor. Taxes and disposal fees, where applicable, are extra.
The plan is tied to Condition Based Service, called CBS. Its terms also address annual service for low-mileage vehicles. It is not a promise of an oil change whenever you request one.
The dealer describes eligibility at 60 months or 60,000 miles, with a maximum age of 240 months. Existing maintenance coverage and special early-purchase rules can affect eligibility, so have it checked for your VIN.
I would compare the visits your car will actually qualify for during the plan term. Dividing the plan price by an assumed number of oil changes would create a per-visit offer the dealer has not advertised.
Before paying, ask when coverage starts, whether your current maintenance plan overlaps and which service center will honor the plan. Keep the written terms with the receipt.

What a US BMW X3 Owner Paid
In a March 15, 2026 G45 Bimmerpost discussion, USA member JoeyO reported paying $120 for an oil change on a 2025 X3 at 1,200 miles.
On March 17, the same owner described a $130 dealer oil change during summer 2025, using dealer-approved oil and filter. These are two visits reported by one owner, not two independent customers.
The early oil-change discussion does not establish BMW’s required interval for your car. A voluntary extra service and a scheduled service covered by a maintenance plan can produce different out-of-pocket bills.
What the Service Should Identify
Ask the shop to match the oil approval and capacity to the exact engine. The Austin service description distinguishes BMW oil approvals, filter fitment, seals and the service indicator reset.
The viscosity printed on a bottle is not the whole specification. Get the engine’s required approval from its service information instead of selecting an oil from another owner’s forum recommendation.
Have the adviser explain the service record and any CBS reset for the work being performed. If you request an extra early change, make clear that it is additional to your scheduled maintenance.

A routine oil change also differs from repairing an oil leak. My oil filter housing repair guide covers a job that can appear alongside the oil service.
If an inspection finds a leak, ask which component is leaking and which repair is proposed. A new filter element does not automatically mean the complete filter housing needs replacement.
Before You Book
Give the shop the year, model and engine, then ask for the complete service total. Mention any active maintenance coverage before the appointment so the provider can check what you already have.
For an advertised offer, confirm that the dealer still honors it for your vehicle and appointment date. I excluded expired coupons from this comparison instead of treating a past promotion as a current price.
BMW Oil Change Questions
Does the $119.95 offer cover every BMW?
The Hudson Valley menu specifies four- and six-cylinder oil Value Service. Confirm eligibility, the complete service contents and any extra fees for your exact model.
Is the $249 oil plan a price for each oil change?
No. East Bay BMW describes a three-year eligible oil-service plan. Its CBS, low-mileage, age and existing-coverage terms determine what service qualifies.
Can I choose oil by viscosity alone?
Match the engine’s required BMW approval as well as viscosity and capacity. The Austin specialist describes choosing oil and filters for the exact application.
Are oil leak repairs included in an oil change?
Ask for a separate repair line. Draining and refilling oil with a new filter does not describe replacing a leaking housing, gasket or another component.
