Imagine hosting your own event in a stadium. How cool would that be? A game with your team under the lights, a company kickball match, or a birthday nobody will forget.
But before you get too excited, you probably want to know what it costs. The good news is that you do not need a pro stadium to get the feeling.
In this guide I will show you the real prices for stadiums that actually rent to the public, from high school fields to a minor league ballpark.
How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Stadium?
It depends a lot on which stadium. Here are prices that stadium owners publish:
So a high school stadium costs about $115 to $345 an hour, and a whole day is $600 to $1,800. A minor league ballpark is about $750 to $1,050 for a game.
Who You Are Changes the Price
School districts often charge some groups more than others. At Centennial, the district’s priority policy decides your rate: Priority 2 renters pay $115 an hour and Priority 3 renters $345, three times as much.
Fishers was voting in August 2026 on a new schedule that would drop its stadium to $225 an hour for local youth groups, and set a full weekend day at $1,125 for them against $1,700 for outside groups.
Renting a Minor League Ballpark
Franklin Field in Wisconsin is a 4,000-seat turf stadium, home of the Milwaukee Milkmen. You can rent it for your own game:
There is one catch. The Milkmen also ask you to book a group outing at one of their games, for at least 30 people at the $15 ticket level, which is at least $450 more.
What About a Big NFL or MLB Stadium?
The big stadiums do rent out, but they do not publish prices.
The Minnesota Twins, for example, rent the Target Field playing field from April to October for things like a two-hour batting practice, and ask you to contact their events team for a price.
So for a pro stadium, expect a custom quote, and expect it to be far above the prices on this page. I would only go that route for a company event with a real budget.
Extra Costs to Plan For
- Insurance. Centennial asks for a certificate of insurance for $1 million per person and $2 million in total, naming the district.
- Staff. Centennial charges $35 an hour for an extra site supervisor if one is needed.
- Press box, scoreboard and concession stand, $100 each per event at Centennial.
- Per-player fees. Some groups at Centennial pay $10 per participant, and tournaments pay $60 for each team from outside the district.
- Changes and lateness. Centennial may charge $35 to change a booking.
How to Book a Stadium for Less
- Start with your local high school or college. They are often the cheapest real stadiums near you.
- Book on a weekday. At Franklin Field a weekday day game is $200 less than a weekend one.
- Play in daylight if you can. Lights add $100 a game at Franklin Field.
- Ask early. The Milkmen say their dates are limited.
